Rainy Night Thefts Lead to Arrests

Officers were called to the 1600 block of Wilson Avenue at about 4:15 am early Saturday morning, February 27, 2010, on report of a suspicious person near the resident's cars.  A resident woke up and saw an unknown male figure standing in the rain near the resident's vehicles parked in the driveway.  When the resident went outside, the male subject quickly walked away out of sight.  Officers found an occupied car parked a block away in the 1600 block of Oakwood Avenue.  Inside the vehicle were two male subjects and a large amount of property including cash, cellular phones, a watch, clothing and other items that did not belong to the subjects.  Ultimately, it was learned that the property has been stolen from about five unlocked cars in the immediate area overnight.

Tony M. Rodgers, 26 years old from Fontana, and David M. Dickerson, 24 years old from Monrovia, were each arrested and booked at APD for felony charges of receiving stolen property.
