A resident in the 300 block of Oxford Drive woke up this morning to find a front window on his home standing open. He checked further and found that his home had been burglarized and a car stolen from the driveway sometime overnight. It appears that sometime between 11:00 pm last night and 6:10 am today, the suspect(s) forced open the window and made entry into the home. The suspect(s) removed a purse, cash, house and car keys, and a Wii game console from the residence. The suspect(s) then made off in the resident's vehicle, a 1998 BMW 740, 4-door, dark blue, license #3WTP022 CA, with a yellow "Carmel" sticker on the rear bumper. The vehicle remains outstanding at time of this posting.
Please remember to close and secure your windows and doors. Thieves will look for vulnerable targets such as open windows or unlocked vehicles and doors. HERE is a link to a previous post on burglary prevention.
