Incident: Residential Burglary Case #12-1176

Date and Time of Release: March 14, 2012 / 3:00PM

On March 14, 2012, at approximately 11:40 AM, the Arcadia Police Department received a call from a resident regarding suspicious circumstances. The caller reported that a vehicle dropped off three male passengers who entered the backyard of a neighboring residence located in the 700 block of Katherine Lane. The driver of the vehicle then parked away from the residence and remained in the vehicle. The caller also added that prior to entering the backyard, one of the subjects rang the doorbell.

Moments later, all three subjects ran out towards the street where the awaiting vehicle picked them up. The same caller provided the description of the vehicle, the subjects and their direction of travel. The vehicle was soon located by the police and the vehicle was stopped without incident. All subjects seen at the Katherine Lane residence were detained including the driver of the awaiting vehicle.

Officers discovered that a burglary had been committed at the residence on Katherine Lane. The subjects were identified as juveniles from the Pasadena/Altadena area. The juveniles were arrested for burglary and transported to the Arcadia Police Department for processing.

The case is currently being investigated by the Detective Bureau and the loss has yet to be determined. Please direct all inquiries to the Watch Commander at (626)574-5156.

  1. This is how Neighborhood Watch is supposed to work. Note that no one stalked, confronted, or otherwise engaged with the suspects, and the vehicle was subsequently stopped, and suspects arrested by the police without incident.
