This video is provided by C-SPAN and is of recent testimony before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs, focusing on Disaster Recovery and the use of Social Media & Disaster Communication. The video gives good insight into some of the "why" agencies should and do participate in Social Media, providing examples from events as recent as the deadly tornadoes in the south. Our communities have changed the way they communicate...even at a local level, it is important for public safety to do the same.
