On June 25, 2013, at
about 1:38 PM, the Police Department received 9-1-1 calls with people reporting
shots fired in the area of Lovell Avenue just south of Duarte Road. Witnesses
reported that the suspect and victim vehicles left the area. A vehicle window
had been shot out.
Officers responded to
the area and confirmed that a shooting had taken place. The male adult victim
later returned to the scene of the shooting. The victim said that he had been
standing on the east sidewalk and the suspect stopped his vehicle on Lovell
Avenue. The victim and suspect exchanged words, and the victim thought the
suspect was about to shoot at him. The victim ducked, the suspect shot at him,
and the victim’s vehicle was struck. The victim was not hit by the shots. The
motive of this shooting is still under investigation.
The suspect was
described as a male, African-American, with a medium build, in his early 30’s, wearing
a dark-colored long-sleeved shirt, and he used an unknown weapon. The vehicle
was described as a 2006, black, four-door, Toyota sedan.
This incident is
being investigated by Arcadia Police Department Detectives. Anyone with information on this
