Nancy Bradley was a long-time Administrative Assistant to the Police Chief, or as many of us knew her, the "Chief's Secretary." Nancy was 89-years-old and passed away this last Sunday.
Nancy worked for four different Chiefs during her tenure here at APD from 1957 - 1995. She was the glue holding down the fort for Police Chiefs Orr, Seares, Mitchell, and Johnson. We all knew to get to the Chief, you had to go through Nancy...but, she always made it a pleasant experience! Our ID numbers have been issued sequentially. We are up to about ID #778 for our staff and Nancy held ID #58.
When notifying our folks about the passing of Nancy, Chief Guthrie wrote, "Nancy had a subtlety and kindness that was uniquely her own, and she was an absolute pleasure to work with." I don't think you will find any of us who would disagree.
Although she had no immediate family in the area, Nancy remained in Arcadia after retirement. She will be missed by not only her APD family but the community as well. Thank you for your service, Nancy!
