Four-Week Closure of Colorado Boulevard for Bridge Removal

WHAT
Crews will be removing the railroad bridge over W. Colorado Boulevard, as part of pre-construction activities for the 11.5-mile Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension light rail project. This work requires daily closures of W. Colorado Boulevard at the bridge for a three week period. The street will be closed during the day and reopened each night to thru-traffic. Additionally, a fourth week of complete closure (day and night) will also be necessary.

WHEN
Weather permitting, the weekday only closures are scheduled from Monday, May 21 to Friday, June 8, 2012. The week of full closures (day and night) is scheduled from Monday, June 11 to Friday, June 15, 2012. All work will be performed during the daytime work hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 p.m.

WHERE
Crews will be working on W. Colorado Boulevard between San Antonio Road and N. Santa Anita Avenue, Arcadia, CA.

WHAT TO EXPECT
• Local access to residences and businesses will be maintained by use of access streets along the detour route.
• Access to Newcastle Park will be maintained, however, a portion of the eastern edge of the park will be fenced off due to construction.
• During closures, thru-traffic for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians will be detoured to Colorado Place and Santa Clara Street (see detour map).
• Construction equipment noise will be heard near active work zones.
